Our Hopes for the Website

First Christian Church Byrdstown is housed at 310 North Main Street in Byrdstown, Tennessee, nestled into the beauty of the Tennessee Upper Cumberland. The beautiful stained-glass windows in our church building inspire our understanding of God’s word. We are a community that encourages people to come with an open heart to whether to begin or continue their individual path with Jesus as their Savior.

In 2017 we celebrated 100 years as a congregation. As we contemplate the next century, we recognize that people become connected, find community and forge paths in new ways. Some seek the fellowship of one’s own heart in private moments of respite and contemplation. Some find their community from the privacy of their phones and computer screens. Others seek to reflect on teachings they heard in the sanctuary but at the slower pace afforded when you can re-read or re-listen to the sermons of the past weeks. Still more will find that they can learn these teachings from the writings of fellow congregants.

This website is then dedicated toward helping our members and guests beyond the doorways of the sanctuary to find and act on their relationship with Jesus. Whatever the reason you turn to this site, we dedicate our mission here to helping you find joy, peacefulness and the assurance of God’s love.

For those unable to attend services, due to distance or health we hope you find the words of the sermons here to bring the word of God into your presence wherever you may be and until you can return to us. For those who seek solace, we wish you the quiet space of your own heart to find encouragement in these pages. For those who are in search of a place of worship, we hope that you will find us – in our sanctuary or on our postings – to be the place where you find a closer relationship with Jesus that may lead you to the doorways of home – a home that can be your church home as well.

May God bless you and keep you; May God make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; May God lift up His face to you and give you peace. – Num 6:24-26
